Mexico Master: Does this boat look familiar to you?
At this stage, many questions remain unanswered:
Was the vessel sold, or has it simply been handed over for management by its owner, Ronald ZEPETA?
What we do observe, however:
a new website currently under development,
https://mexicomaster.com/
a likely rebranding and renaming of the vessel,
and a potential return to service in the near future.
We strongly urge extreme caution.
It is essential that this information is widely shared to prevent other divers from facing a similar situation.
Please feel free to share this and contact us if you have any additional information.

Updated information regarding Carlos CORNEJO, CEO of Pacific Fleet — and Ronald ZEPETA, owner of the Solmar V vessel.
We received, on last January 16, a joint message from Pacific Fleet CEO – Carlos CORNEJO, and the owner of Solmar V vessel – Ronald ZEPETA, stating that the operator has decided to permanently cease its operations.
Regardless of the reasons put forward — whether true or not — Pacific Fleet provides no information whatsoever regarding any potential refunds to Tour Operators or to divers who paid reservation fees, including the marine park fees for the Socorro reserve.
These amounts were nevertheless collected for bookings extending through 2027, and will therefore neither be honored nor refunded.
Based on this final message from Solmar V, the situation can be summarized as follows:
the money has been taken, operations have stopped, and apologies have been issued — nothing more.
It now appears certain that neither Tour Operators nor clients who booked directly with Solmar V can reasonably expect to receive any form of compensation for the damages suffered.
The possibility of a collective legal action also seems to be of no practical value, given that the company has officially ceased operations.
We deeply regret this situation for all Tour Operators and divers who have been, or are now being, affected by this generalized cancellation.
We will nonetheless continue to publish your testimonials on this website, in order to preserve a record for the future, and we remain available to exchange with you should you wish.
We wish everyone strength and courage during this difficult time.

This website is not the official website of Pacific Fleet – Solmar V.
It was created to inform and warn divers, travelers, and tourism professionals after several Solmar V cruises were reportedly cancelled by the operator.
Since late 2025, an increasing number of divers and tour operators have reported that Pacific Fleet has cancelled cruises to Socorro / Revillagigedo, sometimes on the very day of departure, leaving clients without assistance, without any backup solution, and without refunds for the amounts paid.
Numerous testimonies mention Solmar V cruises that were fully paid for but never delivered, a completely non-existent after-sales service, and a total lack of communication from the operator.
In light of these repeated incidents, we have chosen to gather as much information and as many testimonies as possible in order to help divers, travel agencies, and industry professionals assess the reliability of Pacific Fleet – Solmar V before making any booking.
This website also aims to centralize the feedback of travelers who may have been harmed, with a view to a potential collective action or other legal steps in the future, depending on the evidence collected.
We hope this page will help passionate divers avoid an expensive and disappointing experience and contribute to essential transparency regarding the real situation of Socorro cruises offered by this operator.
If you have suffered a similar loss or experienced a problem with this liveaboard operator, we invite you to share your experience with us via the form below, or by contacting us directly at:

Notre Histoire / Our Story
We are a collective of French divers who became victims of a blatant scam by the liveaboard operator Pacific Fleet – Solmar V.
It all began in the first quarter of 2024.
Like many diving enthusiasts dreaming of Socorro (Revillagigedo Archipelago), we booked well in advance to secure spots for this highly sought-after destination — through a reputable French tour operator — for a cruise scheduled for late November 2025.
At that time, only the Solmar V still had enough availability to accommodate our group of about ten divers.
Nothing suggested the slightest problem:
• excellent online reviews,
• presence on numerous booking platforms,
• long-standing reputation for Socorro and Sea of Cortez liveaboards.
We had complete confidence.
But that confidence quickly collapsed.
Upon our arrival in Cabo San Lucas, just five hours before boarding, we received an email from Pacific Fleet:
👉 cruise cancelled immediately,
👉 with no explanation,
👉 no alternative,
👉 no assistance,
👉 not even emergency accommodation offered.
Our group found itself on the street in Mexico, with no solution.
And that was only the beginning…
Since this brutal cancellation, despite dozens of emails and repeated phone calls,
➡️ no response from Pacific Fleet,
➡️ no assistance,
➡️ no refund,
➡️ not even for the Marine Park fees, which they demanded and collected just 10 days before our arrival.
It is hard not to consider the possibility of a premeditated scam, given the total absence of communication.
Fortunately, our tour operator covered the emergency repatriation of the group back to France at their own expense. Without their intervention, our situation would have been disastrous.
This is why we decided to share our story.
Not to cause harm, but to protect divers, travelers, agencies, and tour operators who might consider booking with Pacific Fleet – Solmar V.
The risks are real:
• same-day cancellation,
• itinerary not honored,
• no assistance,
• no communication,
• and above all, no refund.
⚠️ Warning to travelers:
If you have already booked — or if you are considering booking — a cruise with Solmar V / Pacific Fleet, be extremely cautious.
Make sure you have:
• flexible or changeable airline tickets,
• available funds (USD or pesos) for emergency accommodation,
• or, ideally, book through a reliable tour operator who can support you in case of a similar disaster.
Our experience clearly shows that Pacific Fleet can cancel at the very last minute, without justification, without help, without communication, and with no guarantee of refund.
A complete disappointment — or even an outright scam — for a trip we had been looking forward to for nearly two years.
Avis / Reviews
We would like to add an Australian voice to this devastating situation. Our booking was way back in 2020 when Covid hit, aborting all trips on the Socorro Vortex. In hindsight this was fortuitous as we could have been on that fateful trip where the Socorro Vortex crashed into a tall rock wall on the shores of Isla Socorro necessitating an evacuation! However, despite ongoing conversations with Carlos, who reassured us that our deposit would be repaid, it never eventuated. We were even prepared to have the deposit transferred to the Solmar V. We lost over AUD $10,000 and years of stress trying to reclaim our deposit. Knowing that so many other divers have been victims – especially when the company was still taking money when they knew they would not be able to fulfill their obligations – highlights their corruption. We put warnings up on their Facebook page to prevent others from being duped, but they took them down. Thank you for setting up this website to show the sheer worldwide scale of this issue. If there is ever a possibility of a class action, please count us in!
My group has booked few cabins on Solmar V for end of March, 2026. We have paid the full amount already and, as everyone else, received the communication that the company has ceased the operations due to financial insolvency.
Because all payments were done via Zelle (not credit card) and the company is located in Mexico, it is very difficult to recover the amount paid. If there are any available options, please share!
Thank you.
We had a group booking confirmed Dec. 2027 on board Solmar V. We paid 5.000 USD as a deposit at mid 2025 so our trip is fully confirmed. When we heard about the situation we contacted Pacific Fleet but we never received a personalized answer. We just received several authomatic response and nothing else. So by now our lost is 5.000 USD and we dont know what to do.
I am writing as a representative of a travel agency based in Hong Kong. We booked a Socorro Island expedition on M/V Solmar V for June 8-16, 2025, for two clients. The trip was canceled last-minute due to alleged weather issues, with the company bypassing us to notify clients directly, leaving them stranded in Mexico with non-refundable flights and extra costs.
After sending a formal complaint letter, Solmar V only offered future cruise credit to our agency—no cash refund was provided. This aligns with the broader issues reported in the DiveNet article, highlighting the company’s shutdown and divers left out of pocket.
We would appreciate any updates on potential legal actions or collective efforts against Pacific Fleet. Our agency is willing to provide evidence and support.
I was due to dive on the Solmar V from January 30th to 9th February 2026. I booked my trip through Divebooker.com and paid in full. I took out specific dive insurance with Dive assure and paid for the specific Liveaboard cover. So far there has been nothing in the bland communication from Solmar V with respect to a refund. My annual travel insurance have told me that I am not covered for cancellation if the operator cancels the trip, which was a surprise to me. I have made a claim via my diveassure policy but I am fearful that they may state the same exemption and not cover my losses. I’m awaiting information from Divebooker with respect to a refund but their terms and conditions state that the contract is with the operator and they are only an online booking system, so I am not holding my breath that they will arrange any sort of refund. I have invested £4.5K on the trip so this will be a heavy loss. I have had a previous cancellation in the Bahamas when I booked through Liveavoard.com and they refunded me in full for the trip, so I am not wondering if they are a better booking platform than Divebooker. I am sure other divers are also suffering financial loss and it feels to me currently like a scam. If I was to cancel at short notice Solmar V keep the money. Seems as though if they cancel, they keep the money. This can’t be right an they must have a large amount of money invested by prospective customers. This experience makes me nervous about booking liveaboards abroad when it seems as though operators could cancel at any time and keep money that has been paid. Flights and hotel costs also seem likely to be lost so I am currently a very angry and frustrated diver. I am sure I am not alone.
Despite having fulfilled the majority of the payment (over 77% of the total cost), the provider has completely ceased all communication. As of January 2026, we have identified that the company is failing to respond to emails and phone calls, which, coupled with recent reports of trip cancellations without refunds, points to a clear denial of service.
Case Details:
Booking ID: #41218 (8-night trip for a group of 8 passengers).
Total Contract Value: $32,071.85 USD.
Amount Paid: $24,825.91 USD.
Entities Involved: Solmar V LLC (USA), Poboro Cabo S. de R.L. de C.V., and Industrias Solmar V S.A. de C.V. (Mexico).
I got this yesterday
To Our Valued Clients,
First and foremost, we wish to offer our sincere apologies for the delay between communications. Over the past weeks, our team has worked tirelessly and in good faith to explore every possible alternative to address the serious challenges faced by the Company.
As many of you are aware, during our November 17–25, 2025 voyage to Socorro, one of our guests suffered a sudden and severe medical emergency. Despite the immediate and professional response of our onboard crew, the medical personnel at the Socorro Marine Base, DAN specialists, the evacuation team, and the hospital staff in Los Cabos, the guest tragically passed away. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this loss.
This event was unexpected, and all parties involved acted with professionalism, diligence, and urgency throughout the situation. Nevertheless, the emotional, operational, and financial consequences that followed placed extraordinary strain on the Company, its management, and its financial partners.
Although the Company entered into verbal agreements intended to stabilize operations and continue future voyages, insurmountable issues arose during the implementation of those agreements. These issues ultimately resulted in the termination of our management agreement and the loss of operational control and use of the vessel Solmar V, which has since been relocated from Los Cabos to Mazatlán by its owner.
As a result, we regret to inform you that SolmarV, S.A. de C.V., together with its affiliates and subsidiaries, has permanently ceased all operations, effective immediately. The Company will no longer operate voyages, accept bookings, or provide travel-related services of any kind.
We deeply regret the impact this outcome may have on our guests and partners. Serving the global diving community has been an honor, and we are profoundly sorry that circumstances beyond our control have led to this conclusion.
For clients who purchased travel insurance, this letter may be used as formal confirmation of the Company’s cessation of operations to initiate and support insurance claims with the corresponding providers.
We thank you for your trust, understanding, and support over the years, and we once again extend our sincere apologies for this unfortunate situation.
Sincerely,
SolmarV, S.A. de C.V.
Yes I and my diving partner John Parker have lost our deposit for a trip on Solmar V this December 2026. This is in the region of £1200 sterling each. Our deposit was taken with what I believe to be wrongfully as they would have been aware of the difficulties they were experiencing.
Hope something can be done for all that have lost out.
Thanks John
I booked liveaboard trip to Revillagigedo for April 10th 2026 together with other nine friends. Only two of us have received today an email communicating the cease of operations of SOLMAR V. I had paid 50% of the total price for the trip.
Should you have any news or recommendations, please keep me inform. Thank you.
We are booked on the Jan 22-30 trip in 2026 and have not received any communication from the company despite attempts to contact them by email, phone, site, etc.
I had a reservation for the Trip 30 Dec – 09 Jan 2026…
Our trip is 14-22 January and full paid for the trip but Solmar V cannot confirm whether it can continue and cancel the trip on 6 January. We are so worried and disappointed.
I booked an eight-day trip with Solmar V, departing on January 14, 2026. The itinerary is for the Socorro Islands (Revillagigedo), and I’ve already paid over USD 9,000 to Solmar V. Since December 2025, I’ve emailed Solmar V multiple times but haven’t received any reply. I just found out from Google that all their December trips were cancelled.Does anyone know if there’s a WhatsApp group or any other groups for affected divers?
I was supposed to depart with Solmar V on January 6. I received a generic cancellation email on December 17 that instructed me to not contact anyone at the company. I have in fact tried to contact the company, but have not received any responses at all.
I have been informed by others that the boat is currently listed for sale and they have tried soliciting offers from others in the dive industry to purchase the boat. It sounds to me like this entire operation is going under and we will all be screwed out of our money.
I was to be a guest in a group of 12 of us embarking Solmar V on December 13, 2025 disembark on December 21, 2025. I live in Hawaii, USA. A couple weeks prior to embarking I e-mailed the Sales/Reservation Teams to ask if they could reserve a direct transfer for my husband and me from Cabo San Lucas Airport to the Tesoro Hotel.
They replied yes they could. I emailed them back and asked how do they want me to pay and what signage should I look for when exiting the airport for our transfer. I never heard back from them. I e-mailed numerous times, my husband called numerous times and nothing.
We finally received the email message that they were undergoing some kind of reorganization and were experiencing difficulty but would get back to us by Friday, December 2nd with information on moving forward.
We heard nothing on Friday. Our flight from Hawaii to Mexico was leaving Monday, December 8th. We needed to make a decision and we talked amongst our group and finally relented to cancelling our flights, hotel, transfers, etc.
Our group individually emailed Solmar asking for a refund and we all received an email that they were trying to move forward and to be patient, etc. We are still waiting.
I’am a seasoned world traveler both land and sea. I am an experienced diver with thousands of dives under my belt and have had the pleasure of being on some incredible live aboard dive boats around the world.
On April 17, 2024 our group thought about the idea of checking out Socorro. Several of us were interested enough in the trip to put our money where our mouths were and we put initial deposits for the trip on April 30th 2024.
We went through a lot of time, excitement, planning, and stories about past live aboards and what our expectations were based on others in our group who had been aboard Solmar V before.
Personally, I was more than diligent in making payments on time in the method that Solmar V requested which was via Zelle. I never got the sense or thought I was being led astray.
Needless to say, things started to seriously unravel on December 2nd 2025 when we received the following e-mail message from Solmar V when someone in our group reached out via email after several failed attempts to call Solmar V:
Thank you for your email and other communications. A little over a week ago we were presented with a huge challenge that shook our foundation to the point of making our continuance almost unviable. However, given the commitment to our clients, we have been looking for alternatives and ways to rise above it. We feel we have found a path and the outlook looks very positive, although we will not know for sure until mid to end of this week.
We know that we have asked a lot from you, especially this last week with our silence, but with the limited resources we have, we needed to focus on first understanding the issue, assess the situation and then finding alternatives to fix the issue. And all the team has been engaged in this 24/7 and will continue to do so for the next week. You will all hear back from us no later than this Friday, December 5, and hopefully with good news for all.
From this date forward, all official communications will be sent via email. Please do not try and reach any of our team members through other emails, chats or telephone numbers since they will not be answering. On Friday we will also provide you with the list of emails and chats that will resume operability.
Thanks again for your patience.
We were all concerned as to what this would mean for our trip which was due to depart on December 13th 2025.
Many of us tried to reach out to Solmar V to try to find out what was going on, but had no success.
Based on gut feelings, and other rumblings on the web, everyone in our group had basically lost hope that the trip would go and that all hope and money would be lost.
On December 9th I received another cryptic e-mail that the trip had been cancelled via this e-mail:
Dear Mr. ….,
We regret to inform you that, due to unforeseen operational circumstances, the Solmar V departure on 13 December has been cancelled. We realize how disappointing and disruptive this news is, and we are truly sorry for the impact on your plans.
Over the next few days we will provide further information regarding the cancellation and the steps moving forward. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work through this situation. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.
All official communications on this cancellation and next steps will be sent via email. Please do not try to reach any of our team members through other email addresses, chats, or telephone numbers as they will not be answering.
Thank you for your patience, we will continue to keep you updated.
Warm regards,
Industrias Solmar V SA de CV
I was really frustrated, and realized that likely, I would never see any of this money again.
I e-mailed Solmar V at the e-mail address they requested only to get an auto response basically stating they would get back to me.
I requested a full refund and got the auto response again.
I have not heard anything at all from Solmar V as of 12-12-2025.
Am I upset about losing money, yes.
Am I upset about not being able to go on a live aboard trip in what is marketed as an amazing place to dive, yes.
Am I upset about not getting any further information from this company? DEFINITELY.
I feel as if I were robbed. I used to feel like I could control at least some aspects of the narrative of my life, and now I feel wildly jaded by this circumstance.
I will never completely trust another dive company again. I will always buy expensive cancel at any time, for any reason insurance. I will always make payments with a major credit card so that if the company cancels or flakes, I can contest the charges.
I don’t hold out hope that somehow Solmar V will come back to me to offer me a full refund, but if they do, I will gladly take my money back.
I am affected from trip Dec 3-13. I am in a WhatsApp group with other 7 affected.
Hello!
I was on the Nov 25, 2025 trip that was cancelled. I started the reddit and scubaboard threads here. I have also started a whatsapp group with affected divers to see what we can do.
https://scubaboard.com/community/threads/solmar-v-socorro-problem.664728/page-2
I am part of a group of 12 friends who booked with Solmar V/Pacific Fleet starting two years ago, for their December 13-21 Socorro trip. We have all dove around the world, some of us even owned dive companies and ran dive trips our own. We booked with Solmar V because a few in our group had had excellent experiences with them. About two weeks prior to our trip we could not get in contact with the company to help with our upcoming trip. Finally ONE of our group received a very weird and cryptic email apologizing for being out of touch but that something had occurred that shove them to the core and almost made it impossible to continue. But rest assured they had found a way forward and would contact us on Friday at the lastest (3 days before we started flying to Mexico). Friday came and went. NOTHING. NO ONE WOULD RESPOND TO ANY OF OUR EMAILS. We were told ONLY to send messages to a specific email and that all the other contacts, including phone numbers, would not be answered. We all started to panick of course. Then, on Saturday, we heard from a good source (another dive boat operator in Mexico) that the the Solmar V was no longer even in Cabo, and the crew were trying to sell off all the boats items, INCLUDING THE BOAT! That was enough for all of our group to start frantically cancelling any reservations we could. On Tuesday, we finally received an email from Solmar V officially canceling our trip, of which we were to board in a few days!!!! They said they would get back to us about refunds, next steps, etc…………we have ALL send dozens of emails asking for a refund and only get the exact same automated response. But they made sure to state that they would be resuming tours in the beginning of 2026!!!!
That’s our story. Happy to follow up with all the emails Pacific Fleet sent as proof. As a ex-dive professional who has traveled and dove in foreign countries many times, I am APPALLED by this and deeply saddened. It is truly heartbreaking and has caused such emotional stress on top of all the planning and prep time, not to mention $1000’s of dollars just GONE! Given to this corrupt company.
So sorry to hear that you, and potentially many others, are involved in this horrible SCAM! May we NOT be quiet about this, unite in telling our stories, and just possibly save others who may be sucked into this as well. Aloha & Happy Holidays!
Diving trip for four divers from December 13 to 21, 2025. No communication from the Pacific Fleet for 2 weeks. They don’t even answer emails and voicemail goes off on phones.
We are booked on the Jan 6 charter (3 spaces). No correspondence from Pacific Fleet other than the cryptic email saying they would send more info on Friday Dec 5- I guess we are cancelling our trip and trying to get travel insurance or our credit card to cover our losses.
Thankfully we had not sent in the park tax yet.
